PARIS AUSTIN
BASICS: Bishop O’Dowd-Oakland, Jr., Guard
WHY HE’S HERE: Ivan Rabb took most of the spotlight on the talented Dragons roster, but it was Austin who made everything go. A fierce competitor with a high basketball I.Q., Austin was a master facilitator who could also score his share of points. He averaged close to 20 points per game in the postseason.
TYRELL ALCORN
BASICS: El Cerrito, Sr. Guard
WHY HE’S HERE: The Gauchos went 28-5 and would’ve been a serious threat to win a CIF Div. III NorCal title had they not been pulled up to the Open Division. Alcorn was front and center for El Cerrito, leading the Gauchos in scoring (16.5), assists (3.7) and steals (2.6).
FRANKIE FERRARI
BASICS: Burlingame, Sr., Guard
WHY HE’S HERE: It would’ve been hard to put up more impressive all-around numbers than the USF-signee did this season. The 6-foot point guard averaged 22.4 points, 7.1 assists, 5.7 rebounds and 3.2 steals. The Panthers went 26-5 behind Ferrari’s leadership.
CAMERON OLIVER
BASICS: Grant-Sacramento, Sr., Forward
WHY HE’S HERE: The 6-8 forward that recently committed to Oregon State became the best post player in Sacramento. Oliver averaged 21.5 points a game this season for the Pacers. Grant advanced to the section and NorCal semifinals this season.
SPENCER RUST 
BASICS: Monte Vista-Danville, Sr., Center
WHY HE’S HERE: The East Bay Athletic League MVP was the linchpin of an all-senior starting five which led the Mustangs to a 32-1 record and the program’s first state title. The 6-foot-9 Rust averaged a 15 points, 8 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game.
THIRD TEAM
JIDAY UGBAYA
BASICS: Archbishop Riordan-S.F., Sr., Point guard
WHY HE’S HERE: The Crusaders’ deep run in the NorCal Div. III tournament was fueled in large part by Ugbaya. The Sacramento State-signee averaged 18.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.
JESSE HUNT
BASICS: Sir Francis Drake-San Anselmo, Jr. Forward
WHY HE’S HERE: The Pirates won 26 games and stormed their way to a NorCal Div. III title as the No. 9 seed. The 6-6 Hunt was the star of the team, proving so with a 38-point, 10-rebound effort in the quarterfinals and a 25-point, 8-rebound performance in the semifinals. He averaged 17.1 points and 10.1 rebounds on the year.
TREVOR JOHN
BASICS: Monte Vista-Danville, Sr., Wing
WHY HE’S HERE: The Cal Poly-signee was an invaluable piece to the Mustangs’ state-championship formula. It was never more evident than the state final in which he hit his first five 3-point attempts and sparked his team’s wire-to-wire victory over Centennial-Corona. John lead the team with 23 points in the final and added six rebounds. For the year, he averaged 14.3 points and 7 rebounds.
GABRIEL VINCENT
BASICS: St. Mary’s-Stockton, Sr., Guard.
WHY HE’S HERE: The 6-2 UC Santa Barbara-bound guard led the Rams to a second consecutive Tri-City League title by averaging 22.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3.1 steals per game. He scored a career-high 47 points in a nonleague win over Campolindo-Moraga and finished his high school career with a 40-point, 10-rebound effort in a narrow Sac-Joaquin Section Div. II quarterfinal loss.
OSCAR FRAYER
BASICS: Moreau Catholic-Hayward, So., Forward
WHY HE’S HERE: It was a banner year for the Mariners, who reached the CIF Div. IV state final behind a young nucleus. Leading the way in the paint was the 6-5 Frayer, who averaged a double-double of 14.1 points, 10. 1 rebounds and 3.7 blocks.
