Sherman Fall Fun Meet

On the chilly morning of November 2nd, while most would be curled up in bed on a Saturday morning, the Sherman Divers of Lafayette were poolside, preparing for their annual Fall Fun Meet. Many teams from Northern California came to Sherman Swim School to participate, with 89 divers competing throughout the day. For many Sherman Divers, the Fall Fun Meet became their first meet experience, and for others, it was another opportunity to impress judges.

First-time competitor Chloe Goddard left the meet with more than a just great experience when she earned the gold medal in the Future Champions Level 3 event. Newcomer Evan Mann also took home a gold medal in the Boys Future Champions Level 6 event, as well as the High Point Award for his inward somersault. For Sara Koenigsberg, the Fall Fun Meet was a milestone in her diving career, marking her first competition at the Junior Olympic level in the Girls 14-15 event.

The Fall Fun Meet also proved to be an opportunity for veteran Sherman Divers to show off their talent. Defending her title, Morgan Matranga won her second gold medal on her home turf this year in the Girls 16-18 event. Morgan was not the only Sherman Diver to take home a medal. Audrey Lundgren also took home a gold medal in the Girls 12-13 event and Brenna Cetrone earned a bronze medal in the Girls 14-15 event.

Check it out below, we have the results from the day. Shhh… don’t tell the coach we have them.
