Alvarez, Woroniecki Finish 8th in Tokyo

The U.S. duet scored 83.5000 points in the duet free to place eighth at the Japan Open. Combined with Saturday’s 81.8864 score in duet tech, they finished eighth overall with 165.3864 points. Host Japan won gold with 183.1054 points, followed by Canada (177.9450) and Greece (173.6279).

TOKYO – Anita Alvarez (Kenmore, N.Y.) and Victoria Woroniecki (Palm Coast, Fla.) finished their Far East swing of the FINA Synchronized Swimming World Series on Sunday by placing eighth in duet.

USA Synchro is based in Colorado Springs, Colo., and serves as the National Governing Body for the sport of synchronized swimming, appointed as such by the United States Olympic Committee.
