It was an amazing Saturday morning April 29th at Hagan Park in Rancho Cordova, CA as Kids Day in the Park got off to an exciting start that lasted all afternoon long! SportsJam hosts engage with more than 7,000 people as they were challenged and instructed in our all-sports section, SportsJam.
The Cordova Community Council produces a plethora of events for the City, among them this 28th Annual event. Free for all, there were nearly 140 exhibitors throughout the park.
For SportStars part, we produced our SportsJam – inviting sport-specific organizations representing over 25 different disciplines to host sport stations where kids and adults can learn and be challenged. Sports ranging from baseball and softball to lacrosse and rugby, martial arts and Parkour (for those who don’t recognize the name, think American Ninja Warriors).
The Air Force and Air National Guard and the State of California OHV (Off Highway Vehicle) division brought in their expo trailers filled with simulators and hands-on experiences, like remote controlled Jeep rock crawlers. Local clubs and team leaders hosted basketball, tennis, soccer, cheer and gymnastics, golf, volleyball and more.
On the field, our title sponsors, Future Nissan of Folsom brought out a trio of hotrods that added nicely to the glitz and excitement of the day and the Air Force its jet allowing kids a tangible flying sensation. Exhibits of all sorts brought challenges and prizes to those willing to try their hand and test their skills.
More events are on the calendar including our 2nd Annual SacTown SportsJam with the Sr. Baseball Western Championships this July in Sacramento. We’ll see you there…
