With the conclusion of Wimbledon last month, the grand slam tournaments are almost over with one left. The US Open is set to occur at the end of the month with the fans abuzz with excitement of how it all will conclude.
Roger Federer
After winning Wimbledon last month by defeating Marin Cilic, Federer set a new record of wins. Federer is also one of the top males to play at the US Open. Taking the championship at the Australian Open, winning the US Open will give him three of the four Grand Slam tourney wins and a record 20th title. Others theorize at some point Federer has to slow given given his age. Injuries have been a problem for Federer but he seems to have the momentum coming into Flushing Meadows after his Wimbledon win.
Venus Williams
The 37 year old star was defeated at Wimbledon’s final match by the much younger, Garbine Muguruza. Williams had been hoping for a victory which she hasn’t seen there in almost ten years. Despite her disappointment, Williams took it all in stride and has been busy preparing for the US Open. On a personal note, Williams is also preparing for the birth of her tennis playing sister, Venus’s first child.
Rafael Nadal
Nadal was the men’s victor at the French Open and almost won at the Australian Open. He is one of the top choices to also win the US Open. All in all, Nadal has won 15 Grand Slam tournaments over his career. Many believe he is the only male player with enough skill to possibly defeat Federer. As the time for the tournament approaches, fans will be deciding upon their sports bet picks. However, this does not have to be the only way to enjoy the sport.
