Justin Boyd Pittsburg Pirates football

Pittsburg – Football – Junior Justin Boyd
Boyd was moved from starting wide receiver to starting quarterback just four days before the Pirates’ football season-opener. And in just five weeks has become one of the most dangerous dual-threat quarterbacks in the East Bay. In back-to-back games on Sept. 15 and 22, Boyd completed 19 of 29 passes for 357 yards, seven touchdowns and no interceptions. He flashed his running ability in a 35-14 win over Vacaville on Sept. 22. In this Boyd ran eight times for 82 yards and a touchdown. After losing its season-opener to Southern California-powerhouse Centennial-Corona, the Pittsburg  Pirates won three straight. As a result the Pirates remain one of the Top 5 teams in the SportStars NorCal Top 20 Rankings.
