Parker ’18 Places First in Fall Golf Tournament, Wins Scholarship Award and Accolades for Bentley

Laurel Parker is Bentley’s lone female golfer this fall. But that doesn’t even phase her level of play!

Her winning score of 88

She competes on the spring Coed Varsity Golf Team at Bentley High School, serving as team captain. Recently, Laurel competed at the Bay Area Conference Women’s Golf Championships, held at the Presidio Golf Course in San Francisco. Laurel Parker placed first with a score of 88, out of 27 competitors. By winning the conference tournament she automatically advances to the North Coast Section Championships.

On October 20, Laurel received the North Coast Section (NCS) Touchstone Foundation Scholarship. She was selected as the recipient of this scholarship out of 176 NCS member schools. The scholarship will pay $1,000 directly to the college she chooses to attend. This scholarship recognizes her outstanding achievement as a scholar, an athlete, and citizen of the Bentley community.

Laurel also competed in the NCS D2 championships and shot a 91, missing the cut for the D1 tournament by three strokes. She finished tied for 16th place out of 85 golfers.
