As the NorCal Wrestling Tournament of Champions turns 50 this year, Hundreds of Top Middle School Wrestlers Will Take it to the Mats at Del Oro High School.
The NorCal TOC celebrates its 50th anniversary as Placer Valley Tourism partners with Georgetown Wrestling Club to host on March 10th.
The NorCal TOC showcases the best 6th through 8th grade middle school wrestlers in the state. All had to qualify to compete in the TOC.
The tournament takes place at Del Oro High School in two gyms for nearly 550 athletes to compete this year.
Reaching this incredible milestone would not have been possible without the outstanding leadership from long-time Tournament Director Rod Hedlund.
About the NorCal Wrestling Tournament of Champions
“It’s exciting to celebrate the 50th TOC. When I became the tournament director in 1973, I never envisioned that this would take place on my watch,” commented Hedlund.
“It has been an amazing journey. The tournament has gone through many changes and the evolution has been so much fun to be part of.”
Hedlund said that he always strives to make each year better by focusing on both parents and wrestlers.
“I think we’ve been able to do just that because I’ve had such great support from colleagues and friends who have been with me for, in most cases, more than 30 years,” Hedlund said.
“We take a lot of pride in being considered by most in the California wrestling community, the most prestigious youth tournament in Northern California.”
Come celebrate these top youth wrestlers and witness who will be crowned champion of the Nor Cal TOC!
