Makhi Gervais, the 5-11, 165-pound Clayton Valley Charter Football Ugly Eagles running back is having a breakout season in 2018.
Gervais came up particularly big in a key Diablo Athletic League showdown with Campolindo-Moraga on Oct. 5.
Gervais carried 18 times for 166 yards and three touchdowns to help Clayton Valley to a 35-7 win and pushed its league winning streak to 33 games (dating back to 2011).
After eight games, Makhi is on the cusp of his first 1,000-yard season. He’s rushed for 970 yards, averaging 8.6 yards per carry, and scored nine touchdowns.
The Ugly Eagles are 7-1 on the season and appear to be on track for a bid to the North Coast Section Open Division.
