Sophie Jones become Menlo School-Atherton's first Gatorade State Player Of The Year winner in the 34-year history of the awards. The senior midfielder led the Knights to a 20-2-2 record and a Central Coast Section Div. I championship

Knights midfielder, Sophie Jones honored Gatorade State POY and SportStar of the Week.

On June 13, 2019 Menlo School in Atherton announced that Sophie Jones had become the school’s first Gatorade State Player Of The Year winner in the 34-year history of the awards.

The senior midfielder led the Knights to a 20-2-2 record and a Central Coast Section Div. I championship in 2019.

SportStar of the Week

Jones scored 18 goals and added 16 assists despite missing the final two games of the season while training with the U.S. Soccer Under-20 Women’s National Team. She also played in the 2018 FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Uruguay in December.

Jones was also named the 2018 United Soccer Coaches Youth Girls National Player of the Year for her performance with her club team. She carried a 3.65 GPA and will attend Duke University in the fall.
