They say it’s hard to beat a good team three times. Try five! Standley delivered 44 assists and added eight digs on Nov. 9 as she and her Fightin’ Irish teammates defeated Archbishop Mitty-San Jose for the fifth time in 2019 — and claimed the Central Coast Section Open Division title. Sacred Heart Cathedral topped the Monarchs in straights sets, 25-23, 25-21 and 25-15. Standley, who is likely to eclipse 1,200 assists and 300 digs on the season, is committed to Washington University of St. Louis. The CCS title was the Irish’s eighth under legendary coach Margi Biema.
