SportStar of the Week –Ellie Bushnell, Granite Bay Golf, Freshman
It would be hard to have a better first season of high school golf than Ellie Bushnell. Her stellar season potentially reached an apex on Nov. 4 when she fired a 5-under par 67 to take the top medalist honors in the California Interscholastic Federation NorCal Golf Championships at El Macero Country Club. Bushnell’s round also helped the Granite Bay girls golf team claim a second place finish, just one stroke back of champion Dougherty Valley-San Ramon. The Grizzlies are now qualified for the CIF State Tournament take place on Nov. 19 at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach.
