Let’s meet this week’s nominees:

CUPERTINO BOYS TENNIS: The Pioneers claimed their first ever Central Coast Section team title last Friday, topping two-time defending champion Menlo School-Atherton 4-3 in the finals. The win avenged Cupertino’s 2022 finals loss to Menlo by the same score.

JESUIT-CARMICHAEL BOYS VOLLEYBALL: The Marauders continued their season of absolutely dominance by repeating as Sac-Joaquin Section Div. I champions, rolling through the bracket without dropping a set in any of the four matches. In fact, Jesuit (37-3) hasn’t lost a set to a NorCal opponent since beating Davis 3-1 on April 6.

SAN RAMON VALLEY GIRLS LACROSSE: Go undefeated and win section championships — that’s what the SRV girls lacrosse team does (seriously, look it up). This year’s Wolves team finished 24-0 and wrapped up the North Coast Section Div. I crown last Thursday. They outscored their four postseason opponents 68-17. SRV closes out the year ranked No. 1 in the state (and No. 13 nationally) by LaxNumbers.com

SUTTER SOFTBALL: The Huskies, ranked No. 5 in SportStars’ NorCal Top 20 rankings, went 3-0 last week and prevailed 1-0 in a No. 5 vs. 6 showdown with East Nicolaus. Sutter finished the regular season 25-1 overall and 19-0 against NorCal opponents. They will be heavy favorites in the SJS Div. V playoffs before likely being placed in the CIF regionals Div. I bracket.

Time to vote for Team of the Week! Get to it.
