Hooray for USA, says four-time Olympic medalist and Sr. Synchronized Swim coach, Andrea Fuentes! Two Bay Area stars were named today to the synchro Senior National squad.

Leane Capdeville (who hails from Nantes, France and now lives in Berkeley) and Nicole Goot, Santa Clara Aquamaids were named by USA Synchro to the 2018-2020 U.S. Senior National Synchronized Swimming Squad.

The squad was finalized following the Senior National Team Challenge in Riverside last month.

The swimmers selected to the Senior National Team are: Anita Alvarez (Buffalo, N.Y.), Paige Areizaga (Palm Coast, Fla.), Leane Capdeville (Nantes, France/Berkeley, Calif.), Nicole Goot (San Jose, Calif.), Hannah Heffernan (Las Vegas, Nev.), Bill May (Henderson, Nev.), Maya Plotnitskaya (Las Vegas, Nev.), Daniella Ramirez (Miami, Fla.), Ruby Remati (Andover, Mass.), Abby Remmers (Sugar Land, Texas), Lindi Schroeder (Andover, Mass.), Kanako Spendlove (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Emmanuella Tchakmakjian (New Canaan, Conn.).

About Leane: I started synchro in 2010. I have a big sister who used to practice synchro too and a little brother. After synchro I’d like to study psychiatry. I’m French and American. I swam for the French National Team for three years.

About Nicole: I grew up in Israel and moved to America when I was 7. My role model is Anita Alvarez. My favorite subject in school is English, my favorite food is sushi, and my favorite style of music is pop/hip hop.
If I wasn’t swimming synchro, then diving.
Something that people don’t know about me is that I speak Russian!
