Coach Harry Marra has been called the maestro of the multi-events. With over 48 years experience in Track & Field, conditioning, athletic performance, youth physical fitness and Higher Education teaching and coaching, Marra has traveled extensively around the world representing the USA with many of his athletes. A former decathlete himself, Marra served as Head Coach of the USA National Decathlon Team from 1990 to 2000. During that time, the team set every possible World Record in the decathlon, highlighted by Dan O'Brien's gold-medal victory in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Marra has produced six different decathletes who have reached the 8000+ point level. Marra also served as a consultant to the San Francisco Giants on speed, strength and conditioning. Most recently, he was the coach behind two time Olympic decathlon champion and world record holder Ashton Eaton and Olympic bronze medalist Brianne Theisen-Eaton. Marra was the Nike Coach of the Year in 2012 and the IAAF World Coach of the Year in 2016. He is currently involved in many coaching clinic projects around the world, and we are fortunate to have his expertise and wealth of knowledge at the High Sierra Track & Field Camp.

Coach Diana Yale has been Head Coach at Truckee High School for 14 years. Her hard work, dedication, and devotion to each and every athlete has earned her four Northern Nevada Girls' Regional Titles, two Nevada State Girls' Team Titles, and one Northern Boys' Regional Title as well as numerous individual and relay State Champion Titles. Achieving these results has been a difficult feat considering Truckee HS just opened up its new state of the art track and field facility a year ago. Yale has coached her athletes in adverse and often difficult conditions including running in the halls, in the gym, on roads, and on a dirt track up until last year. She truly cares about the well being of each of her athletes and believes that anything can happen in track and field and anything is possible. A former middle distance runner herself, Yale competed as a San Jose Cindergal under the leadership of Olympic Coach Augie Argabright and ran at Cal Poly SLO and Sacramento State. Her passion and enthusiasm for the sport is contagious, and it has been her long time dream to bring a track and field camp to Truckee.

Coach Uros Kogal has been involved at a very high level for many years in the sport of decathlon. In his professional career he has collaborated with the world’s most celebrated coaches and has immersed himself in the many different schools, disciplines, and styles of coaching. In addition to being coached by the best Slovenian coaches, Uros mostly trained under Coach Milan Lorenci. He also learned from some of the best athletic coaches in the world. From 1993 to 2004, he regularly attended the camps of Vitaly Petrov, the coach of all the world record holders in the Pole Vault, among them Sergey Bubka and now Yelena Ishinbayeva in the Italian town of Formia. In the year 2001 Coach Kogal was preparing at two training camps (Formia and the Canaries) with the Czech team, together with the previous world record holders in decathlon, Tomas Dvorak and Roman Seberle, and Coach Zdenek Vano. Between 2006 and 2008, he spent time training in Italy where he competed for the club Pro Sport from Florence. There he trained with the best Italian all-round gymnast William Frullani and the team of coaches, under the leadership of Riccardo Calcini, in order to qualify for the Olympics. An injury hindered this goal. In the year 2011 he started collaborating with the Extreme Tennis Academy of Miami, Avantura. This led to his work with the Bommarito Performance System Team which prepares NFL players and sprinters to try and qualify for the American Trials and the USA Track and Field team.
