Morgan Rothwell and the Glenarden 4x200 Team

Gold medals make you smile

Morgan Rothwell is smiling. And rightly so. She and her teammates Gabrielle White, Payton Payne, and Laura McEwen won the 12-year old girls 4×200 meter relay at the AAU Indoor Nationals in Landover.

Besides the “gold” medal, they also broke the meet record and became All-Americans.

All are members of the Glenarden Track Club in Maryland.

We didn’t catch up with the rest of the team but we did find out that Morgan holds the 200m and 400m record for the PVA Youth Invitational and set a new pr in the 200m at AAU in 26.2.

When asked about Morgan’s goals she said,” This spring, I want to become a National Junior Olympic Champion in the 200/400/4×1/4×4.” “I love school! I got all a’s on my past report card!”
