FAST BREAKDOWN

While there weren’t a ton of games over the last half of November, many of them had an impact on the Top 20. Certainly, results from the NorCal Tip-Off played a role in the shuffle. Riordan-S.F. and Bishop O’Dowd-Oakland both had wins at the seven-game showcase on Nov. 30. They each move up to No. 5 and 6, respectively. O’Dowd’s win came over preseason No. 7 Modesto Christian and featured an impressive debut by highly-touted freshman, Jalen Lewis.

Meanwhile, preseason No. 4 Weston Ranch-Stockton dropped its second game of the season at the NorCal Tip-Off Classic. The Cougars fell to preseason No. 11 Dublin by more than 20. The Gaels were the second East Bay Athletic League team to top Weston Ranch, following preseason No. 14 Dougherty Valley-San Ramon. There’s still a lot to like about Weston Ranch, but the Cougars had to fall out of the Top 10 for now.

One other NorCal Tip-Off result of note was No. 3 Archbishop Mitty-San Jose edging preseason No. 10 Campolindo-Moraga 60-58. Campo didn’t get dinged too much for the loss, dropping just four spots.
