NEXT FIVE

PRESEASON TOP 20 TEAMS REMAINING: 13
BIGGEST MOVER

There’s just one new arrival in the Top 20 as McClymonds moves into the bottom slot prior to its attempt to win a third straight CIF State Bowl title. Del Oro was technically the biggest mover, climbing two spots to No. 4. There’s an outside chance the Golden Eagles could finish No. 3 depending on its state bowl performance and how it compares to current-No. 3 Liberty’s. Thanks to a head-to-head win in the CCS Open Div. I final, No. 10 Menlo-Atherton is likely to stay ahead of No. 11 Wilcox regardless of how each perform in bowls this weekend.  Also, should McClymonds lose it’s bowl game, Rio Linda or Colfax could move into the final Top 20 with a bowl win.

Who says Gilroy was a signature win? Nobody here wrote that. Liberty stayed where it was at by blowing out a team it rightly should have blown out. We’re just two weeks in. Let the schedule play out a bit. Liberty is going to have to play both Pitt and Freedom eventually. If they win out, they deserved their spot. If they don’t, they’ll certainly drop.

So are you insinuating that Freedom should be ranked higher than Liberty? If not who do you think should be ranked higher than Liberty?

I think Castlemont high school out of oakland California is being overlooked. They have scored 82 points in two games this year when they only scored 70 points all of last year. New talent and they are young. You might want to look at them.

Foothill high school out of Sacramento ca previous 3/4 years have been 1-9. So far this year they are 3-0 70-0 74-0 54-12. They have a new coaching staff and looking good over there.
