HS Championships and National Invitational Results

The 15s regular season concluded with three fantastic games at Saint Mary’s College in Moraga. North Sac Warriors took on Bishop O’Dowd for the Varsity Silver title, with BOD coming out on top in a hard fought game. Read more for the Game of the Day!

The real action tho was Danville vs. Granite Bay in a clash of #1 and #3 ranked teams in the country. Some fantastic rugby saw Danville just edge GB by three points at the very end.

The JV Gold division saw a repeat match up of a regular season clash between Mother Lode and Granite Bay. After another fantastic and hard fought match, Mother Lode ended up squeaking by for the victory.

Going back to Charlotte, NC representing NorCal in the Boys divisions this year were Jesuit in Single School, Granite Bay, Sierra Foothills and North Bay in multi-school. A tough first day saw losses for Sierra and North Bay, while Jesuit need extra time to advance in Single School; Granite bay moved on is a strong showing.

Day two saw some great rugby from everyone involved and saw wins for all NorCal teams advancing GB and Jesuit to their respective Finals, while NB and Sierra would face each other for 5th place in the Tier 2 bracket.

Day three saw Sierra come out on top against North Bay, and heartbreaking losses for both Jesuit (Gonzaga #1), and Granite Bay (Royal Irish #2). Throughout the year, all NorCal teams involved at Nationals represented NorCal extremely well, and nothing changed at Nationals. Thank you for being great ambassadors for our sport and region!

The Girls Nationals saw Danville and Pleasanton return to great heights. Fallbrook once again showed their speed, power and skill, and ended up taking down a very strong Danville team. Pleasanton also had a hard time against very good opposition on day one losing by just one point to finalists, Kent.

Day two saw good wins for both NorCal teams and secured a third place game for Danville, and a 5th place game for Pleasanton.

Both teams took advantage of their opportunities, and both Danville and Pleasanton came out on top to claim 3rd and 5th places respectively to end another great year of competition for the girls! Thank you all for representing our sport and region so well!
