This unique and spectacular event takes place May 13 in Redding and features a 5K and 10K. As the organizers like to say ‘It doesn’t matter if you run, walk or crawl — every mile is earned.’ And those miles will be earned in mud, glorious mud!
The goal of the Shasta Mud Run is to challenge you and push you to your limits with a combination of running and various military-style obstacles. The course is designed for people of all fitness levels to enjoy. There will be plenty of volunteers at each obstacle to give you a hand if you need it, but be sure to give it your best effort. Though no swimming is allowed, the slides do have water pits at the bottom which are about 4-5 feet deep. All water crossings are accessible by foot and are about waist-high.
