AAU Girls' National Volleyball Championships wave 1 top teams

This year’s Association of the American Universities (AAU) Girls Junior National Championship for volleyball is in full swing. Held in Orlando, Florida at the Orange County Convention Center, the championship takes place from June 13 through June 28.

The volleyball championship include seven divisions. This includes the Open Division—the highest division— followed by Premier, Elite, Club, Aspire, Spirit, and Classic Division.

There is a total of 236 teams competing at the AAU National Volleyball Championships, including Biola University, California State University Fresno, Long Beach, and Sacramento, Pormona-Pitzer Colleges, San Diego State University, San Jose State University, Stanford University, the University of California Berkeley and Santa Barbara, the University of San Diego, and University of Southern California.

10 Girls

1st palace: VAQUERAS 10-1 (PU), who won 11 matches and lost .

11 Girls

1st place: CCVV 11 Fushsia (FL), with 13 matches won and 0 lost; 26 sets won, 5 lost.

11 Open

1st place: A5 11-1 Lori (SO), with 10 matches won, 2 lost; 21 setts won and 6 lost.

12 Club

Other Results Highlights

Mintonette Sports – m.41 beat the Union 14 UA Black with a 1-0 win in the 14 Open division on June 13. Other Open Division winners for that day include the Boiler Jrs 121E Gold, who defeated the WPVC 12 Armour Black 3-0, as the A5 12-1 LA who beat OT 12 O Cristobal 2-0.

Games included PPU 12 Adidas vs Academy 12 Diamond in the 12 Premier Division, with a final score of 2-0. Triangle 13 Black vs Ti-State Elite 13 Blue ended with a final score of 1-2.

PAO U11/U12 beat the New WaveS 12 Holly with a score of 2-1.

Vaqueras 10-1 beat Tampa North 10 Black and Dallas Skyline 10 Royal on Thursday as well.

Friday, June 14 results include Vaqeras 10-1 winning against WPVC 10 Elite Black and K1 Volley 9-1 Oscar

There was also a  2-0 win in the 11 Open Division when K1 Manati Scoare 11-1 went head-to-head against MJVA 11 Elite. Boiler Jrs 111 Gold had a big 3-0 win over the Legacy 11-1 Adidas team.

Highlights from the 18 Open Division on Saturday, June 15 included a massive 4-0 win at the Munciana 18 Samurai game against WVBA 18 Adidas. PowerPlex 18 U Brogean had a 3-0 win against IMGA 18, but PowerPlex 18U was defeated by FaR Out 18 Black 0-3.

It was a tied 2-2 score when PowerPlex 18U played against faR Out 18 Black on Sunday, June 16.

Other scored from Sundays events include a 3-1 win in the 13 Open Division in the SPVB 13 Elite vs Monon Elect 13E Cardinal game.

In the 10 Girls Division, Monon Select 10 Mako lost to the iUnited 10N Blue team, and the K1 Hatillo Nina 10 beat the Munciano 10 Kunoichis 2-1.

Schedule

Wave 2 takes place on June 13 until June 16. This includes 10U, All 11U , All 12U, All 13U, All 14U, 18U Open, 18U Premier divisions. Wave 3 is slated for June 21-24, followed by Wave 4 on June 25-28.

Medals and team trophies are awarded to the top four teams of the AAU National Volleyball Championships, as well as individuals awards at the official Awards Ceremony. This includes All-American and Most Valuable Player awards.
