2024 USA Volleyball Junior National Championship: What You Need To Know

It’s championship season for volleyball players, and the 2024 USA Volleyball Junior Nationals Championship for girls ages 14-17 is set for July 3-11.

This Championship brings the best teams together for days of matches to earn national titles.

The Girls Junior National Championship (GJNC ) features seven different divisions that include: Open, National, USA, Liberty, American, Freedom, and Patriot.

Open is the most elite division, followed by National, USA, Liberty, American, and Freedom.

The Patriot division is the only pay-to-play division, and this year is restricted to 128 teams per age division.

Along with competitive matches at a chance to be the best team, players have the chance to travel and bond as a team and make new friends with others who share the same love for the sport.

Here’s what you need to know about the 2024 USA Volleyball Junior National Championship.

Location

Viva Las Vegas! GJNC for ages 14-17 is held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Schedule

Check-in is scheduled for Tuesday, July 2 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center for ages 16-17. Games for ages 16-17 start on Wednesday, July 3 to Saturday, July 6.

Check-in is scheduled for Tuesday, July 7 for ages 16-17. However, there are no games on the schedule. Players can rest and recover and sightsee in Vegas.

The Championship resumes on Monday, July 8 to Thursday, July 11 for ages 14 and 15.

The schedule is broken into blocks 1 and 2. Block 1 is games from July 3 to 6, and starts at 8 a.m. with the 16 Open division and ends at 3 p.m. with the 16 Patriot division.

Block 2 for July 8 to July 11. It starts at 8 a.m. with the 14 Open division on July 8th and ends on July 11 at 3 p.m. with the 15 Patriot division.

The exact team schedule is to be posted at the beginning of the week leading up to the National Championship.

Practices are scheduled from 4-8 Pam. For ages 16-17 on July 2, and 4-8 pm.m. on July 7 from 14-15 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

Spectators

Spectators need to register for a QR code ticket to watch the Girls Junior National Championship. Kids ages 10 and under are free. To register, use this link here.

Those who cannot attend in person can stream matches on BallerTV. Please be advised that this requires a paid subscription fee.

Themes

GJNC is holding theme days. These add extra excitement and motivation and are a fun way to get involved in all the action and show your spirit. This includes a red, white, and blue day, and a tie-dye day.

Recruiting

This national championship teams up with NCSA College Recruiting. This means the girl’s volleyball players will have eyes on them with their profiles visible to over 35,000 college coaches.

Prep Dig is collaborating with USA Volleyball for Showcases at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. The event features elite competition, positional breakdowns, and a chance for our Prep Dig Scouts and College Coaches to evaluate players. There are two sessions, July 2 from 6-8 p.m., and July 7 from 6-8 p.m. There is a separate registration for the Showcase, with a cost of $130 per player.

Olympic Souvenir

The 2024 Girls Junior National Championship may not be the Olympics, but it is an Olympic year. To celebrate, the venue is selling Paris 2024 Olympic commemorative collector’s pins. There are limited quants available, and the pins can be purchased for $25 at the Spectator Admission Help Desk.

Professional Photography

Texas Star Photographics is the official sports photographer at the GJNC. However, parents will have to request to have their child’s photo taken. This is free to sign up for action shots, and photos are available one hour after the match at the photographer’s booth. It’s recommended to register before the event, but it’s possible to sign up in person.
