Westlake edges Westview on PKs to win first CIF-Southern California Regional Division 2 girls soccer crown, reach state final

Grace Wetzel, Sydney Wise and CC Chowana-Bandhu converted penalty kicks for second-seeded Westlake in a 3-1 shootout girls soccer victory against No. 8 Westview after the teams played to a 0-0 result through regulation and overtime in the CIF Southern California Regional championship match in the Division 2 state playoffs.

Cierra Spencer, a senior goalkeeper for the Warriors, stopped one penalty kick and Westview missed two other opportunities to lift Westlake to the inaugural Division 2 state final March 13 against San Ramon Valley at Natomas High in Sacramento.

Ally Damron converted the lone penalty kick for Westview, which was seeking a fourth regional championship in program history, following victories in 2014, 2021 and 2024.

London Davis, a senior goalkeeper, recorded eight saves for the Wolverines.
