The Little League Senior Western Regional ALL STAR Tournament Comes to Sacramento, CA July 19 thru July 27, 2016

July 19, 2016 the Little League Senior Western Regional Tournament will start “Play Ball,” the cry heard on ballfields around America, will resonate from American River College. as the Little League Western Regional Senior Baseball Tournament gets underway. Opening day will host a Special Challenger game for special need kids from the Sacramento Region, this will lead up to the Opening Ceremonies and the first game of the tournament.

Twelve teams from 11 Western States will take the field at Beaver Stadium at American River College for the weeklong tournament that determines the Little League Western Regional representatives to the Senior Little League World Series in Banger Maine, in August 2016.

The senior little League Baseball Division is for boys and girls 13-16 years old, using a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches.  Each Team will play at least three games in this tournament format. The Best of the West are represented by California, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Alaska, Hawaii, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. Since its founding in 1939 by Carl Stotz, Little League has instilled leadership, character, courage and loyalty in over 2 million players.  

California District 5 is join by four other Northern California Districts (6, 11, 7, and 54) which will be hosting this Western Regional Tournament here in Sacramento. District 5 consists of 5,000 plus Little Leaguers both Boys and Girls ages 4 to 18 years old, from the local communities of: Rosemont, Foot Hill Farms, College Glenn, Arden, Rancho Cordova, Sunrise, Carmichael, Eastern, Fair Oaks/Orangevale, Northridge, Whitney, and Citrus Heights. 

The greater Sacramento area businesses are eligible to partner up with the youth in this Little League Regional All Star Tournament, which offers business a way to connect and partner with local consumers and traveling Teams. This partnership supports the community effort to develop local Little Leagues and bring the Senior Western Regional Tournament to Sacramento, building character of our youth through the Game of Little League Baseball.
