Aquanuts Success Leads to Nationals

Walnut Creek Aquanuts Gear up for the National Championships•
The Walnut Creek Aquanuts had a successful March qualifying all of their Junior and 13-15 athletes for Nationals through the West Zone Championships. March 1-4 the Aquanuts hosted the qualifying event at Clarke Memorial Swim Center.
Top level athletes from California, Nevada, Arizona, Washington & Oregon competed for the chance to qualify for the US Junior and 13-15 National Championships.
Walnut Creek qualified their swimmers in every event entered. The Aquanuts travel to Junior and 13-15 Nationals, April 11-15 in Lewisville, Texas.
On the last day of Nationals, five 13-15 aquanuts will compete in the final phase of National Team Trials. Heather Ding, Megan Kerner, Marlena King, Ryan Lewis and Miko Begossi have already passed two phases of the trials. Those who qualify will represent the U.S. internationally this summer.
2018 is a banner year for the Walnut Creek Aquanuts. It marks 50 years for the club that was founded in 1968. The club will be celebrating with a commemorative wall reveal at Larkey Swim Center, Walnut Creek. This will take place during their fundraising show on May 5th. The Celebration of Champions will start at 2:00 and includes a show, auction and the wall reveal commemorating fifty years of producing champions in Walnut Creek.
