Santa Clara Aquamaids was founded 50 years ago in 1964, so this year marks the golden anniversary of the club. SCA has a rich history and copious contribution to the sport. Through generations of exceptional athletes and coaches has become the most decorated synchronized swimming club in the world. To celebrate this special historical milestone and recognize the accomplishments by many over the years, SCA will host an “Academy Awards” reception and banquet which is planned for September at the Santa Clara University Mayer Theater. The club will be encouraging the gathering of all SCA alumni, including international and national medalists, and this exciting celebration will coincide with the reunion of the 2004 Olympic Team, of which 7 were Aquamaids.
SCA also hosts various fun and exciting summer camps in numerous locations around Silicon Valley to introduce synchronized swimming to young athletes and recreational swimmers from 7 to 11 years old. The club has teams of 10 & under and 11 to 12 year old swimmers who also travel to compete in meets and have attained phenomenal results at many competitions. Please visit Aquamaids.org for more details of the summer camps.
