Harvey, listed as a 4-star cornerback on 247Sports.com, is one of the most electrifying athletes in Southern California. He led the Trailblazers with four interceptions last season (along with sophomore Kamari Ramsey), and had a team-high 2,143 all-purpose yards, seven receiving touchdowns and two punt returns for touchdowns.
Harvey is one to watch for the Los Angeles Daily News 2020 Player of the Year award, and is the anchor of a star-studded 2021 class at Sierra Canyon that also includes Georgia Tech quarterback commit Chayden Peery.
Each day, speculation of when the high school football season will be played is debated on social media due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The CIF Southern Section is scheduled to announce the sports calendar for the 2020-21 season on July 20. The likelihood of a normal start time (August) is unlikely, however there’s hope for an October start, but many believe a start in 2021 is imminent. An athlete like Harvey, who could be in position to graduate early in December, will have a decision to make on whether he wants to join the Hokies for spring practice or play his senior high school football season.
July 20 will answer some questions, but will light fire to a new ones.
