Olympic Trials 2024 Swimming: Athlete Highlights For Team USA

U.S. Olympic Swim Trials are currently being held at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, TN. Athletes from across the U.S. are competing for their chance to make the Olympic Team, when the most elite athletic event kicks off with the Opening Ceremony on July 26 from Paris, France.
The Swim Trials began on June 15 and will conclude on June 23. So far there have been explosive performances from pro athletes.
Here are the highlights of the athletes who qualified for Team USA.
The first divers to earn their spot on the Olympic team were Sarah Bacon and Kassidy Cook. They nailed their event, the women’s synchro 3m springboard final.
Regan Smith broke her own American Record in the 100m at the Swim Trials. She charged ahead in the exciting event with a finish time of 57.93.
Katie Ledecky earned a top prelim time in the women’s free 1500m event and in the women’s 200m freestyle final.
Lily King’s impressive 100m breaststroke allowed her to punch her ticket to Paris as part of Team USA.
For the men’s 100m backstroke, it was a great performance by Ryan Murphy. Murphy is heading to his third Olympics this summer.
Jack Alexy finished the men’s 100m free in a fast 47.08 seconds, setting a new Long Course National and U.S, Open record.
Other swimming athletes on their way to Paris 2024 include Erin Gemmell, Paige Madden, and Claire Weinstein. Male athletes who made Team USA include Kieran Smith, Drew Kibler, Chris Guliano, and Luke Hobson.
