Barrel of Wine Top Prize at 3rd Annual Wine Barrel OpenEndFragment
A barrel full of wine bottles is up for grabs at the 3rd Annual Wine Barrel Open, November 5, 2015, at Greenhorn Creek Resort, located in the heart of California’s gold country in Angels Camp.
The competition will be fierce but in the end, the victorious team will earn the right to pop be the corks from 32 bottles of locally produced wine, including award-winning Zings, Barberas, Syrahs and other varietals donated by Calaveras County wineries, all Vintner Members of Greenhorn Creek Resort. Additional prizes include golf, lodging in The Caddy Shack, a 5-bedroom facility that sleeps up to 12, and golf for four at Greenhorn Creek Resort.
“The Wine Barrel Open is a fun-filled tournament with a twist,” says Allan Ramorini, Head Golf Professional at Greenhorn Creek. “Thanks to our location in Calaveras County, outdoor activities, wine and outstanding food are integral components to the lifestyle at Greenhorn Creek and this event combines the best of all three.”
The event, open to the public at a fee of $150, includes: golf; tee prizes, wine tasting reception hosted by Greenhorn Creek’s Vintner Members, plus a five-course dinner prepared by CAMPS. Non-golf playing guests are welcome to attend the reception and dinner for $60. Lodging packages are available.
All proceeds from the Wine Barrel Open will benefit the victims of the recent devastating Butte Fire that ravaged over 70,000 acres in Calaveras and Amador Counties.
