Archbishop Mitty-San Jose – Basketball – Senior Krissy Miyahara
Miyahara Played for the San Jose Cagers Blue club team at the End Of The Trail Summer Swoosh Championships in Irvine. At the championship, Miyahara showed why she will be expected to be a key shooting threat for the Monarchs in 2017-18. In a July 28 pool play game against Emerald City Basketball Academy Swish Black of Seattle, Miyahara set a Cagers Blue club record with 10 3’s. Furthermore, this was on 10 of 13 shooting. As a result, Miyahara finished with 30 points as San Jose topped ECBA 78-65.
Archbishop Mitty varsity coach Sue Phillips is the coach of the Cagers Blue team. Phillips called her Krissy “Clutch” Miyahara in a congratulatory tweet that evening. The Cagers went 6-1 in the Division I tournament field. They narrowly missed out on the title after falling 65-63 to Way To Win Gold (Washington) in the championship game. Way To Win Gold was a thorn in the Cagers side. They beat them 43-42 at the EOT Bay Area Ultimate Challenge one week earlier in Walnut Creek.
