The 2025 NCVA President’s Day Tournament is set to bring together top volleyball teams from across the region for a weekend of intense competition.

Hosted by the Northern California Volleyball Association (NCVA), the girls’ volleyball tournament is scheduled for February 15-17, at venues including The Grounds and the San Mateo Event Center.

This annual event is a premier showcase for young volleyball athletes looking to compete at an elite level to showcase their skills. Teams will battle through pool play, crossover matches, and bracket competition, with division names honoring past U.S. presidents. As one of the largest club tournaments in the region, the event provides an exciting stage for players, coaches, and volleyball enthusiasts alike.

The NCVA President’s Day Tournament features teams across multiple age divisions. The San Mateo Event Center is hosting 27 teams in the 11s and 12s division, 42 teams in the 13s division, and an impressive 71 teams in the 14s division. The latter includes teams like the Bay Area Volleyball Club, Northern California Volleyball Club, SF Stars, and the Golden Gaters Volleyball Club.

44 teams are competing in the volleyball tournament in the 15s division, and 18 teams from the 18s division, which will both be held at The Grounds.

According to NCVA, expanding to multiple event sites was a necessity due to a 51 percent increase in team registrations. Athletes can expect top-tier competition and lots of fun when participating in this tournament.

NCVA partnered with Championship Combine for potential recruitment on Friday, February 14. This provides an opportunity for athletes to demonstrate their skills in front of college-level coaches.

The NCVA President’s Day Tournament is just one of the many exciting events slated for the year as part of its Power League. NCVA reports a 30 percent increase in Power League team registrations among the girls 2024-2025 season.

“We’re excited for this new season, the growth across all divisions shows how much the sport is growing in a region where volleyball already excels,” Donna Donahy, NCVA Commissioner said.

This includes a 40 percent increase in the girls’ 14 division and a 36 percent increase in the girls’ 11 division.

Following the President’s Day weekend of events is NCVA’s March Madness tournament for girls slated for March 8-9.
