Warby Parker Sport Brings Style to the Performance Sunglasses Market
Sports sunglasses are an essential summer accessory for athletes, providing protection from UV rays while improving visibility and offering the comfort needed to avoid distractions during activity. Traditionally, sports sunglasses have favored function over fashion, and few brands have successfully blended chic, stylish aesthetics with the performance features active consumers demand. However, Warby Parker recently made a bold move into the category, launching a lineup of sporty sunnies that are well worth checking out.
The eyewear brand introduced Warby Parker Sport in April, an active collection of sunglasses built for athletes who value style and high-quality frames that can be worn all day, no matter the activity. The collection bridges the gap between fashion and performance eyewear, delivering a polished look that transitions seamlessly from the trails to the court and everywhere in between.
The Warby Parker Sport collection features several unisex styles, including Flint, Cliff, River, Cedar, and Sierra.
Each pair is lightweight and equipped with non-slip nose pads, concealed spring hinges, and an expanded field of vision.
Warby Parker Sport also incorporates the brand’s most advanced lens technology to date. Each Italian-crafted frame features performance polarized lenses designed to enhance contrast and clarity across varying environments while reducing horizontal glare by up to 55 percent.
There are three lens options available:
- Gray Lenses: Ideal for water and road activities, offering true color perception and excellent glare reduction.

- Rosewood Lenses: Best suited for trails and snow, enhancing contrast while reducing eye fatigue.
- Brown Lenses: Designed for field sports and fishing, providing improved contrast and depth perception.
To accompany the launch, the Warby Parker Sport campaign features runners Victoria Paris and Victoria Bennie, along with golfer Roger Steele. SportStars has also been putting the Sierra model to the test throughout the spring and summer to see how it compares with other sports sunglasses on the market. Here’s our full review.
Design & Style
With plenty of sports sunglasses scattered between our car, gym bags, and around the house, the Sierra quickly became our go-to pair for both everyday activities and workouts. That alone proves these sunglasses are designed to be worn all day, no matter the occasion.
Italian-crafted and finished in a rich Mahogany Tortoise colorway, the Sierra elevates the traditional sports frame. While performance-driven, the design is undeniably chic, adding an element of sophistication rarely found in athletic eyewear.

Prescription lenses are available, and users can renew their prescriptions directly from their iPhone. Sport lenses can also be added to any non-Sport Warby Parker sun frame for added durability.
In short, these sunglasses look just as good around town as they do on the tennis court or out on a trail run. Ideal for summer vacations, their versatility is unmatched for active individuals who also appreciate fashion.
Comfort & Performance
These Warby Parker sunnies are a reliable and durable option for several reasons. First, the frames are ultra lightweight and virtually unnoticeable during summer activities. They stay securely in place without sliding down the bridge of the nose, eliminating the need for constant adjustments when breaking a sweat. They also remain stable during a jog or even while serving during a volleyball match.

The lenses provide excellent clarity and effectively reduce glare, making them comfortable to wear for extended periods outdoors. Colors remain natural, and visibility stays sharp even in bright sunlight. During pickleball matches, we no longer found ourselves squinting when facing the sun.
Even after frequent wear, the frames have held up exceptionally well, with no noticeable loosening or warping. They feel sturdy without sacrificing comfort.
For its first venture into the sports category, Warby Parker hit it out of the park with its Sport collection. It’s difficult to find much to criticize. Some consumers may hesitate at the premium price point, but these sunglasses effectively combine a high-performance pair and an everyday pair into one package.
The classic Sierra silhouette in Mahogany Tortoise pairs effortlessly with both athletic and casual outfits. The shape feels modern without being overly trendy, making these sunglasses a versatile choice for everyday wear and active pursuits alike.
Starting at $195, Warby Parker Sport is available in all retail locations and online at WarbyParker.com.
