50. TIERRA ROBINSON-JONES
Bishop O’Dowd-Oakland – Track & Field – Junior
Among the best long sprinters in the state, Robinson-Jones finished second in the 400 meters at state before running a blazing 400 meters to lead the Dragons’ 4×400 relay team to a state title. Her relay lap of 53.24 seconds was the fastest North Coast Section time this season and third-fastest in the section’s history.

Sanjay Kettles

49. SANJAY KETTLES
St. Mary’s-Berkeley – Track & Field – Senior
After fouling out of the finals as a junior, Kettles was down to his last attempt as a senior when he jumped 24-feet, 33/4 inches to win the state title in the long jump. He won the same event at the NCS Meet of Champions with a jump of 24-41/4.

48. BAYLEI COSTON
Freedom-Oakley – Football/Basketball – Junior
Coston had a breakout season for a Falcons football team that reached its first NCS final and CIF Regional Bowl. He caught 63 passes for 1,337 yards and 15 TD and provided 30 tackles and three interceptions at cornerback . During the winter, he played point guard for a Freedom squad that went 19-8.

 

Baylei Coston

47. RYAN WILCOX
Los Gatos – Football/Baseball – Senior
Wilcox was co-MVP of the De Anza League for the Wildcats (20-11-1). He went 8-1 with a 0.78 ERA and batted .272 with 12 RBI and a team-best 21 runs scored. During the fall he had 32 catches for 505 yards and five TDS, as well as 51 tackles on defense.

46. YEALIMI NOH
Carondelet-Concord – Golf – Sophomore
Noh was a model of consistency during the postseason. She shot a 68 to earn top medalist honors at the NCS Tournament of Champions before winning top medalist honors via a playoff at NorCals where she shot a 73. At the state tournament she finished inside the Top 15 by firing a 78.

45. GRIFF MCGARRY
Menlo School-Atherton – Baseball – Senior
The Virginia-bound MVP of the PAL-Ocean league led the Knights to a CCS Div. II title by hitting .446 with a .561 on-base percentage, 11 stolen bases and 20 runs scored. McGarry went 8-1 on the mound with a 1.14 ERA and 96 strikeouts in 57 innings pitched.

44. TIM FALLS
Dublin – Basketball – Senior
The explosive Montana-bound wing could affect a game in so many ways for the 29-win Gaels team. The SportStars 1st-Team All-NorCal selection had team-leading averages in points (15.3), assists (3.5), steals (2.7) and blocks (1.0). Falls recorded five steals in a game on five separate occasions during the season.

Lauren Lopez

43. LAUREN LOPEZ
Archbishop Mitty – Softball – Senior
Lopez was named the Bay Area News Group’s South Bay Player of the Year after leading the Monarchs to a third straight CCS title. She hit .469 and .500 in the playoffs. Lopez finished the season with a team-best 45 hits to go with 27 runs and 28 stolen bases.

42. TATIANA TOLEAFOA
James Logan-Union City – Volleyball – Junior
The explosive outside hitter led the state with 635 kills, among stats reported to MaxPreps.com. She averaged 5.9 kills a set and added 46 aces, 39 blocks and 384 digs for a Colts team that went 37-5 and was the NCS Div. I runner-up.

Bryn Evans

41. BRYN EVANS
St. Ignatius-S.F. – Lacrosse – Senior
Playing for the top program on the West Coast, Evans was an All-American attacker who Laxrecords.com named National Player of the Week honors in late April after Evans delivered a stellar string of games on the East Coast. He will play at Harvard next season.

40. ALIJAH VERA-TUCKER
Bishop O’Dowd-Oakland – Football – Senior
USC-bound OL was the personal pilot car for sophomore tailback Austin Jones, who rushed for just shy of 2,000 yards and 27 TDs for the 15-win, CIF Div. 5-AA State Bowl champs. Postseason accolades included All-State Elite honors as well as All-NorCal.

39. LOGAN JOHNSON
St. Francis-Mountain View – Basketball – Junior
Johnson had a breakout season at 18 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals. The San Francisco Chronicle’s South Bay Player of the Year was also a 3rd-Team All-State Elite selection and 2nd-Team All-NorCal honoree.

Nicole Liddle

38. NICOLE LIDDLE
Archbishop Mitty-San Jose – Volleyball – Junior
The junior outside hitter led the CIF Open Div. state champions with 355 kills and averaged 3.4 per set. She also added 36 blocks, 222 digs, and a team-best 543 serve receives.

37. NICOLE MAY
Foothill-Pleasanton – Softball – Freshman
She received and accepted an offer to Oklahoma as an eighth grader, so her first season with the Falcons wasn’t too surprising. She hit .460 with a team-best 41 hits, and finished second on the team with 36 RBI. She hit 10 HR, six doubles, two triples and went 25-3 from the circle with 293 strikeouts in 191 innings.

 

Julien Ison

36. JULLEN ISON
Moreau Catholic-Hayward – Football/Basketball – Senior
Ison is headed to Northern Colorado in the fall after a blistering career with the Mariners. As a senior he rushed for 2,308 yards and 23 TD and had 39 tackles, four sacks and two interceptions. He had 25 total TDs on the season. In basketball, he averaged 6 points, 3 assists and 2 steals for Moreau’s state finalist hoops team.

35. MADDY JOHNSTON
Sacred Heart Prep-Atherton – Water Polo – Senior
Johnston repeated as Overall CCS Player of the Year after providing 97 goals, 45 steals, 43 exclusions and 41 assists for a Gators team which won its 10th consecutive section title. Johnston has Women’s Youth National Team experience and is headed to Michigan.

34. SARAH CHOY 
Sacred Heart Prep-Atherton – Tennis – Junior
It took nearly three full seasons before someone finally got the best of Choy in a high school match. Despite losing to Ashley Yeah in the CCS singles final, Choy is 79-1 in her three-year prep career and is considered among the top 10-ranked youth tennis stars in the country and among the Top 5 in the state.

Leki Nunn

33. LEKI NUNN
Serra-San Mateo – Football – Senior
One didn’t have to watch the Padres very long in 2016 to find the best athlete. The San Jose State-bound dual-threat, do-everything QB/RB/WR, logged more than 3,100 total yards (1,055 rush; 1,972 pass) and 39 total TDs for Serra team which won 10 straight (after an 0-4 start) to reach the CIF Div. 2-A State Bowl.

32. OSCAR MUNOZ 
Freedom-Oakley – Soccer – Senior
Munoz was named Bay Valley Athletic League MVP for the second straight season after leading the Falcons to an unbeaten record in league play and a trip to the NCS Division I semifinals. He led all scorers in the section with 23 goals and assisted on 23 others.

31. CHARLIE RUDY
Novato – Lacrosse – Junior
Rudy may very well have been the nation’s most prolific scorer in girls lacrosse last season. The Colorado-commit netted 160 goals and added 62 assists for a Hornets team which went 26-1 and won the NCS Div. I title. She scored nine goals in NCS final.

30. BENNETT WILLIAMS 
St. Francis-Mountain View – Football/Basketball – Senior
Williams will play at Illinois following an extremely prolific career with the Lancers. As a senior, he notched six interceptions (giving him 15 over two seasons) and added 49 tackles, along with one blocked punt. He also caught 24 passes for 541 yards and five TDs.

Delanie Sheehan

29. DELANIE SHEEHAN
Liberty-Brentwood – Soccer – Senior
The three-time Bay Valley Athletic League MVP is currently a U-19 US National Team member. She helped propel the Lions to an NCS Div. I championship repeat with 18 goals and 15 assists on the year, and will play at UCLA next season.

28. LUIS GRIJALVA
Armijo-Fairfield – Cross Country/Track & Field – Senior
Grijalva won the CIF Div. I race at the cross country state finals. In the spring, he capped his high school career with a state championship in the 1600 meters and a runner-up finish in the 3200.

27. IFFY JOYNER
Pittsburg – Football/Track & Field – Junior
Joyner began the year as a dominant defensive presence on a Pirates football team which qualified for the NCS Open Division. He had 53 tackles (21 for loss), six sacks, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. In the spring, he won the state title in the discus with a throw of 203 feet, 8 inches.

26. JADE SMITH
St. Joseph Notre Dame-Alameda – Basketball – Senior
The Pepperdine-bound guard averaged 17 points, nine rebounds, six assists and five steals for a 30-win Pilots team that finished the year ranked No. 20 in the state. He was a 2nd-Team selection to both the All-State Elite team and All-NorCal.
