Runners looking for a versatile sneaker that can take them from speed work on the track to long runs on the trails—and every road in between—may have just found a heavenly sole-ution.
While on Earth recently launched its first running shoe, the Rhythm Runner, expanding its lineup of performance footwear that includes its debut training shoe, the Move Trainer.
Designed as a well-rounded option for a variety of workouts and distances, the Rhythm Runner aims to be the one shoe runners reach for day after day. SportStars put While on Earth’s Rhythm Runner to the test over the past few weeks to see if it could truly keep pace with the rhythm of training, evaluating its design, comfort, performance, and durability.

DESIGN AND STYLE
Available for both men and women, the Rhythm Runner comes in three colorways: White, Black, and Wheat/Midnight. Each option is designed to transition seamlessly from workouts to everyday adventures without sacrificing style.
The Wheat/Midnight colorway, in particular, stands out with its subtle contrast and modern aesthetic. These sneakers look just as good paired with yoga leggings at the gym as they do while grabbing coffee, running errands, or heading out for a run.

COMFORT AND PERFORMANCE
Sure, these shoes look stylish, but performance matters far more than appearance—and fortunately, the Rhythm Runner delivers.
The shoe features a lightweight yet highly responsive supercritical foam midsole. Unlike some max-cushioned trainers, there isn’t an exaggerated “walking on clouds” sensation. Instead, the foam strikes a balanced feel with just enough softness to absorb impact while remaining incredibly lightweight.
We appreciated how the midsole avoided feeling bulky without sacrificing comfort. Even after back-to-back running days and increasing mileage, our feet remained comfortable with no noticeable soreness.
The Rhythm Runner features a 10 mm heel-to-toe drop, while its refined rocker geometry naturally rolls the foot forward for smooth, efficient transitions. The ride feels responsive without being overly aggressive. Every footstrike felt cushioned yet energetic, offering enough rebound to maintain momentum without reaching the ultra-bouncy feel found in some of the biggest running brands’ premium trainers. Instead, the Rhythm Runner delivers a smooth, controlled ride that’s well suited for everyday road running.
Stability comes from the technical woven upper and supportive heel construction, which help keep the foot securely in place. We did find ourselves tightening the laces a bit more than usual to achieve a fully locked-in fit, but once adjusted, the shoe remained secure throughout the run.
The tongue is also designed to enhance lockdown during movement. However, during one run, it rubbed against the top of the foot and caused some minor discomfort. Fortunately, this only happened once and was easily resolved with a quick adjustment.
Wrapped in a technical Leno weave upper, the Rhythm Runner weighs 10.5 ounces (men’s size 9). Despite not being among the lightest daily trainers on the market, it felt nimble during speed sessions on the track and never became cumbersome during interval workouts or strides on the road.
The only time we noticed the shoe’s weight was during runs on fatigued legs. Even then, the heaviness came from muscle fatigue rather than the shoe itself. In fact, the rocker geometry helped maintain a smooth running rhythm when our legs started to tire.
DURABILITY
One of the Rhythm Runner’s greatest strengths is its versatility, thanks in large part to its rugged tread pattern that provides reliable traction across a variety of surfaces.
Whether running on roads, tackling light trails, sprinting on turf, or completing agility drills, the outsole inspired confidence and maintained solid grip throughout testing.

While on Earth appears to have built the Rhythm Runner with longevity in mind. Although we’ve logged only about a month of running in the shoe, wear has been minimal. Long-term durability remains to be seen, but the early signs are certainly encouraging.
THE VERDICT
The While on Earth Rhythm Runner successfully delivers on its goal of being a versatile daily trainer. While it doesn’t offer the ultra-soft, ultra-bouncy ride of some flagship super trainers, it doesn’t try to. Instead, it provides a balanced blend of responsiveness, comfort, stability, and durability that makes it suitable for everything from easy miles and speed workouts to light trail adventures.
Minor fit issues were easy to overlook given the shoe’s consistent performance across a variety of workouts. Its smooth rocker, lightweight feel, and dependable traction make it a reliable option for runners looking for one shoe that can comfortably handle nearly every training session.
While on earth’s Rhythm Runner is sold online, retailing for $160.
