1> COMMUNITY EVENT: Field of Dreams at KidFest, Mt. Diablo HS, Concord, May 25-27 “” Spend your Memorial Day Weekend with us by attending KidFest in Concord and taking part in SportStars’ interactive Field of Dreams exhibit. Learn skills or watch the pros demonstrate them.
2> BASKETBALL: Memorial Day Classic, Game Changers Courts, Hayward, May 28-30 “” Gerry Frietas of the Hoop Review Scouting Service is promoting this three-day tournament with both High School and Junior High Divisions. For more information, check out HoopReview.Net.
3> SOFTBALL: CCS Division II Championship, San Jose PAL Stadium, May 25 “” All signs point to Archbishop Mitty attempting to close out an undefeated year and potentially finish as MaxPreps’ National Champion. They entered the week of April 29 ranked No. 2 in the Xcellent 25.
4> GIRLS SOCCER: SJS Championships, various sites, May 18 “” There should be no shortage of intriguing matchups on the pitch as seven different divisions will determine a champion. Rio Americano and Vista del Lago are both teams which are on track to defend their titles from 2012.
5> TRACK AND FIELD: NCS Meet of Champions, Edwards Stadium, Berkeley, May 24-25 “” If you won’t be able to drive to Clovis for the CIF State Finals, this event is the next best thing. One of the more masterfully run events by the NCS, the MOC almost always runs on time and features plenty of talent.
