SportStars Magazine: What dives were you focusing on the most heading into the championships?

Emilie Wiederman: For sure my backs and reverses because those are scary for me.

SSM: Did you expect to win?

EW: I wasn’t expecting to get first. I was expecting to do pretty good but not first, because i’m only a freshman.

SSM: Being just a freshman, how important is this title?

EW: It’s just as important as any other meet, just moving forward getting higher and higher a score for the competition.

SSM: What diving events can we find you at this summer?

EW: There’s gonna be Regionals at Santa Clara this summer, and there’s zones and Nationals (in Indianapolis, Aug. 7-11).
