The Norcal High School Cycling League is heading to Placer Valley for the Granite Bay Grinder! The course wraps around Folsom Lake. Hence the name the Granite Bay Grinder.
On Saturday April 14 the North Conference teams from the Norcal High School Cycling League will compete at the course in Granite Bay. Then on Sunday, April 15, 2018 the South Conference teams will hit the course.
The Granite Bay Grinder High School Mountain Bike Race
Folsom Lake State Recreation Area in Granite Bay will be packed with high school mountain bikers for the NorCal High School Cycling League’s fourth race of the season on April 14 and 15. The Granite Bay Grinder features nearly 1,200 racers shifting into high gear on the course that trails around the lake.
Hauswald explained that the league currently has more than 1,200 registered student athlete riders. “The NorCal High School Cycling League is proud to be an inclusive, coed, no bench, no cut sport; our teams and coaches are here to help teenagers get into mountain biking in a supportive and fun environment.”
On Saturday, the North Conference teams will hit the trails and Sunday, the South Conference teams will be out in full force. Each conference has 11 different racing categories and both days the first race is scheduled to start at 9 a.m.
The North Conference teams will race on Saturday and the South Conference hits the trails on Sunday. There is a $12 fee per vehicle to enter the Folsom Lake State Recreation Area. There is no spectator fee for the races, so come on early, enjoy the scenery and watch as these amazing student athletes race to reach the podium!
