Born out of the Northern California Golf Association in 2006, Youth on Course subsidizes greens fees to remove cost as a barrier to entry for potential lifetime golfers.

Youth On Course Pursuit of a College Education

“Support of our members in their pursuit of a college education continues to be the most rewarding thing we do all year,” says Michael Lowe, Vice President of Programs, Youth on Course. “The day-to-day focus is to provide our members with access to affordable golf, but our core purpose of providing youth with access to life-changing opportunities shines through our scholarship program, as education has the power to transform society.”

Born out of the Northern California Golf Association in 2006, Youth on Course subsidizes greens fees to remove cost as a barrier to entry for potential lifetime golfers. Operating in 31 states and Canada, more than 60,000 members have played more than 845,000 $5 rounds of golf, helping to generate $5.2 million in tee-time revenue reimbursed back to partner facilities.

About Youth on Course

The core purpose of Youth on Course is to provide youth with access to life-changing opportunities through golf. Members play hundreds of courses for $5 or less, benefit from employment through the caddie and internship program, and receive college scholarships.

Headquartered in Pebble Beach, the 501(c)3 organization began as the charitable arm of the NCGA. Since 2006, more than 845,000 rounds have been played by Youth on Course members. That has raised more than $1.6 million for college scholarships.

In the United States Youth on Course serves Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin with the goal of delivering affordable golf in all 50 states by 2021.

The program has expanded to Alberta, Canada with plans to service every province by 2022.
