Manteca Storms Into The Top 5; McClymonds, Marin Catholic & San Ramon Valley Also Climb In Newest NorCal Football Rankings •

The No. 5 spot in these NorCal football rankings appears to be a bit of a cursed one of late. This week, Oak Ridge-El Dorado Hills joined St. Mary’s-Stockton and Monterey Trail-Elk Grove as teams to lose the week after landing at No. 5.

This week, yet another Sac-Joaquin Section team will get its shot at ending the trend. Manteca rises seven spots after beating back-to-back Sierra Foothill Athletic League teams on its way to the SJS Div. II championship and a regional playoff date with No. 4 Pittsburg.

McClymonds-Oakland and Marin Catholic-Kentfield have been holding down the No. 7 and 9 spots, respectively, for more than a month now. They finally move up to Nos. 6-7 after winning their section title games with relative ease.

San Ramon Valley-Danville was the other team to make a significant jump in the rankings. The Wolves jumped four sports to No. 12 after taking down former-No. 15 Campolindo-Moraga 35-21 in the North Coast Section Div. II final. SRV will host No. 7 Marin Catholic for the CIF 2-A regional playoff on Saturday.

Finally, a CIF 3-AA regional showdown between Grant-Sacramento and El Cerrito will certainly also be for a spot in the rankings. Bellarmine-San Jose could also potentially get back in with a win over current No. 20 Vanden-Fairfield in the 3-A regional.

Now onto this week’s NorCal football rankings.
