As the 2024 Olympic Trials continue across sports, next up to compete are the talented gymnasts when the Olympic Gymnastic Trials kicks off on Thursday, June 27.

The 2024 Olympic Gymnastic Trials takes place at the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN from June 27 to June 30, and is set to air on NBC, USA Network, and stream on Peacock.

Here are the athletes expected to make Team USA.

Competing at the Trials are Olympic Champions Silone Biles, Gabby Douglas, and Sunisa Lee.

Biles is the gymnast expected to make Team USA and compete next month at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. It will be her third Olympic team if she is to qualify. She is expected to be the top all-around finisher after competing for two days of events. The top all-around finisher is automatically on the team to represent the U.S. in the Olympic Games.

Biles is currently the world all-around champion.

There is a total of five athletes that will compete on the women’s gymnastics team, as well as four alternatives. However, only two of the four alternatives to travel to Paris are to be with the team.

The Team Final plays a big role in selecting the other four members to be part of Team USA. It takes a bit of strategy to make sure the gymnasts selected perform well in all disciplines since as floor, uneven bars, and beam.

Lee, the reigning Olympic champion is also expected to make the team. She placed fourth in the all-around at the U.S. Championships. Lee is known for her performance on the bars and beam.

Athletes expected to punch their ticket to Paris include Shilese Jones. Jones finished second in the all-around at the Classic in May. However, she recently had a shoulder injury.

Other women worth looking out for include Kayla DiCello, the bronze medal at the U.S. Championships. She was named an alternative for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

Jade Carey is the Olympic champion on the floor. She is also a strong at the vault, making her a great contender for Team USA.

The silver medals in the team event at the Tokyo Games in 2021 Jordan Chilies are also expected to perform well. Chiles is a great all-around gymnast.

For the men, fans are excited to watch Brody Malone, the three-time U.S. all-around champion compete.

Other Olympic hopefuls for the men’s team include the 2023 World all-around bronze medalist Frederick Richard and the 2023 U.S. all-around champion Asher Hong.
