NCVA Girls Volleyball Heats Up with Sierra 18 and Far Western National Qualifiers

As the 2025 club volleyball season progresses, the Northern California Volleyball Association (NCVA) is gearing up for two of its most significant tournaments: the Sierra 18 and the Far Western National Qualifiers.

These prestigious events will bring together some of the best young volleyball players in the country as they compete for a chance to qualify for the USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championship.

2025 No Dinx/NCVA Sierra 18’s National Qualifier

One of the most anticipated events of the season, the 2025 No Dinx/NCVA Sierra 18’s National Qualifier, will be held from March 14-16, 2025, at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento.

As a USA Volleyball-sanctioned national qualifier, this tournament will feature top-tier 18s teams from across the country vying for a prestigious bid to the USA Volleyball Girls 18s Junior National Championship.

This event provides a competitive platform where athletes can showcase their skills in front of college recruiters and volleyball enthusiasts alike.

The Sierra National Qualifier is expected to be a high-energy tournament, filled with electrifying plays and outstanding teamwork, as teams leave it all on the court in their quest for a national championship bid.

US Men’s Sitting Volleyball Exhibition Matches

Adding to the excitement of the Sierra National Qualifier, spectators will have the unique opportunity to witness elite-level volleyball in action.

The USA Men’s Sitting Volleyball Team and the Germany Men’s Sitting Volleyball Team will compete in exhibition matches, alongside the Travis Air Force Volleyball Team. These matches will take place on Court 1 and offer fans a rare glimpse into the world of Paralympic-level adaptive sports.

  • On-site tickets for sitting volleyball matches:
    • $5 for a single-day pass
    • $10 for a two-day pass

  • All proceeds from ticket sales will support the sitting teams’ travel expenses.

2025 No Dinx/NCVA Far Western National Qualifier

Following the Sierra National Qualifier, NCVA will host its biggest event of the season, the 2025 No Dinx/NCVA Far Western National Qualifier.

This massive tournament will span three weekends (April 4-6, April 11-13, and April 25-27) at the Reno Sparks Convention Center in Reno, Nevada.

Over 1,600 junior volleyball teams from across the country will battle for a coveted USA Volleyball bid, making this one of the most competitive and exciting volleyball tournaments of the year.

Beyond the competition, the Far Western event is a major opportunity for athletes to be seen by college scouts, increasing their chances of securing collegiate scholarships. With high-stakes matches, passionate fans, and the vibrant entertainment of Reno as a backdrop, the Far Westerns National Qualifier is more than just a tournament—it’s an unforgettable experience.

Alongside these high-stakes tournaments, NCVA continues to host Power and Premier leagues, as well as two fan-favorite special tournaments: March Madness and the Golden State Classic.

March Madness and Golden State Classic

Volleyball enthusiasts can look forward to March Madness, scheduled for March 8-9, 2025, at the Capital Sports Center (CSC) in McClellan. Known for its thrilling matches and intense competition, this event is one of the most popular tournaments on the NCVA calendar.

Following shortly after, the Golden State Classic will take place on March 15-16 at the San Mateo Event Center, offering another opportunity for teams to showcase their talent and build momentum heading into the national qualifiers.
