Lauren Harris has the potential to become the most prolific 3-point shooter in California girls basketball history in multiple categories Saturday, as the Faith Christian School junior could eclipse a pair of state records on her home court.

Faith Christian (27-2), the No. 2 seed in the Northern California Division 6 playoffs, plays host to third-seeded Weed (26-6) at 7 p.m. in the regional semifinals in a rematch of last year’s final four showdown, with the Cougars securing a 65-61 victory.

Harris scored 35 points, including seven 3-pointers, for the Lions in a 73-49 victory Wednesday against No. 7 Round Valley in the regional quarterfinals.

Harris has 174 3-point field goals in 29 games this season, looking to surpass the state all-time mark of 179 3-pointers achieved last year in 33 contests by Kaleena Smith of Ontario Christian, according to Cal-Hi Sports.

Harris elevated to No. 2 in state history for a single season following her performance against Round Valley.

The state record of 486 career 3-pointers produced by Jessica Grant of Mission Hills in 118 games from 2019-22, according to Cal-Hi Sports, is also under threat by Harris, who ascended to 483 3-point field goals in only 89 career contests following Wednesday’s victory.

Harris enters the matchup against Weed at No. 3 all-time in the state, trailing Grant and the 485 3-pointers accumulated in 111 games from 2015-18 by Allison Ayala from Covina High.

Harris scored 40 points, including eight 3-pointers, in last year’s Division 6 regional semifinal setback at Weed.

The winner of Saturday’s regional semifinal showdown will square off Tuesday against either No. 8 Fall River (14-13) or fifth-seeded Cornerstone Christian (20-10) to decide the regional championship.
