We tested FixnZip at SportStars. Our subject, a runners jacket, was especially tricky because the zipper was broken at the “zipper box” (that little square piece at the bottom end where one piece fits into the other that gets the whole thing started. Anyway we worked past that and followed the very simple instruction. Our caveat is to not tighten the thumb screw as much as you might feel you should! We discovered the error of our way after finishing the brief install and then realizing we couldn’t budge the zipper! So start a bit lighter in fact and if the zipper falls out, reinsert it and tighten the “thumb screw” mechanism a bit more. You’ll find the right setting by touch- the zipper should move up and down seemlessly- just like a new one would.

Connect the ring to the pull – like you would any key ring. The pull has a simple clasp that easily fits through the slider and you’re done. We’ll experiment awhile – our assumption is we might end up testing the thumb screw for just the right tension after a few more zips!
