Capital Christian-Sacramento – Basketball – Senior Chappell
The Cougars’ senior, Zachary Chappell, led his team through a challenging early season schedule. It included finals appearances in the Gridley Invitational and Rancho Mirage Holiday Classic. Also it included a consolation championship at the Tarkanian Classic. Chappell earned Open Division All-Tournament honors at the MaxPreps tourney in Rancho Mirage. He has helped Capital Christian to an 13-6 record that includes wins over local powers Folsom and Sheldon. The Cougars have not lost to any Sac-Joaquin Section teams yet. Capital Christian has started the Golden Empire League schedule with three consecutive wins. The 6-foot-3 guard is a four-year starter. Chappell is averaging double figures in scoring in each season. Capital Christian is the defending SJS Division III champion. They’re expected to challenge for another section title and CIF State Open Division berth this year.
