JOVON MCCLANAHAN SportStar of the Week – Salesian-Richmond – Basketball – Senior •
It’s been a dominant first two months of the season for nationally-ranked Salesian, and McClanahan has been right at the center of it. He showed that again on Jan. 26 at Solano College in Fairfield. He accounted for 19 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals to help lead the Pride to a 65-41 victory over Nevada-power Clark-Las Vegas. The win improved Salesian to 24-0 and moved them into the Top 10 of the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 National Rankings. As a result, the win kept the Pride firmly in the driver’s seat for the No. 1 seed in the Open Division of the CIF Northern Regional playoffs. McClanahan’s twin brother Jaden is also a starter and major contributor to the team’s success.
