Sacramento City College Wrestling Coach Gales adds a 3-time World Champion and National Wrestling Hall of Famer Kemp to his staff. Coach Gales has announced that Lee Kemp has been hired to join his staff as an assistant wrestling coach.

Kemp’s Gold Medals in Wrestling

Coach Kemp was a 3-time National Champion Wrestler for the University of Wisconsin. Kemp has also won 10 gold medals in freestyle wrestling for the United States. Three of those gold medals came at the World Championships. Two of them were at the Pan American Games. Four of them at the FILA Wrestling World Cup. And the last one at the World Super Championships.

AL FONTES “aka, Coach Al” has over 38 years service in the sport of wrestling. He has served as the California State Editor of the California Wrestler Newsletter since 1995. He has also been a contributing editor for several national wrestling publications and websites (Wrestling USA Magazine, Amateur Wrestling News, WIN Magazine, InterMat and theMat.com). His awards include Wrestling USA Editor-of-the-Year, WUSA Man-of-the-Year, and at the 2001 CIF State Championships, he was given the Irv Oliner Award for contributions to California wrestling.
