Jaden Conwright 2019 Porsche Carrera Cup (4 Place Championship Finish)

Our ongoing coverage of East Bay native, Jaden Conwright (racing formula cars beginning in 2014 when he was just 15 years old attending Newark Memorial High School, see that first story here) continues.

Since then Jaden has lived, raced and trained in Italy and the UK and most-recently joined the Porsche Carrera Cup circuit.

Jaden Congright's season in Italy and with Porsche was very successful (first time racing GT, second youngest driver, multiple podium finishes, highest scoring rookie and only American in the championship).

For those interested in racing as well as other sports, here is an excellent US-based website with lots of sports and betting resources. Interestingly, Tennessee recently adopted a bill to offer online sports odds. The mobile/online-only sports betting bill is the first of its kind in the country. Check it out.

Five drivers, including Jaden, were battling for the championship during the final round of the season. Jaden scored a 3rd Place podium finish in Race 1, and remained in the championship fight for the final race of the season.

During Race 2 at Monza, Jaden was at the sharp end of the field waging an exciting back-and-forth battle with other championship contenders.

While initiating a pass, rocks were kicked up by another car striking and cracking Jaden’s windshield. And more seriously striking and puncturing Jaden’s radiator.

Due to the immediate loss of engine coolant, Jaden was forced to retire the car in his only DNF (Did Not Finish) of the championship. That eliminated any chance of him receiving additional racing points in the highly contested championship. Nevertheless, Jaden finished 4th Place in the championship overall.
