She’s baaaaack. Both on the mat and atop the 235-pound Division of our newest NorCal Girls Wrestling Rankings.

Sac-Joaquin Section Masters champion from 2020 and returning CIF-medalist Annika Miles is expected to make her 2021-22 debut at the last possible moment, charging into the postseason at the SJS North Regional on Feb. 11 at Natomas High in Sacramento.

Her return was confirmed by her mother, Simone Miles, and signifies a serious increase in NorCal prestige, considering Annika  is ranked No. 4 in the country at teamusa.org.

Annika is one of 14 new names on the second and final regular season release of NorCal Girls Wrestling Rankings. Our inaugural season highlighting the best of NorCal will be seriously tested as girls scramble to secure CIF championship qualification from looming regional and section-championship competition in the SJS, Central Coast Section and North Coast Section.

More names are destined to appear.

I think Mackenzie Gilbert of Modesto high school got snubbed. Her tournament record is 25-9 as a freshman wrestling the 101 pound weight class. This is her tournament record and how she finished and 2 of her wins are from league dual.
Atwater Bristow Brawl 3-0 (1st place)

    Livingston Girls tournament 2-1
    (2nd place)

Beauty & the Beast invitational Madera 3-1 (3rd place)

    Albany Girls Invitational 4-1
    (3rd place)

Brittany David Invitational Brentwood 4-1 (3rd place)

5th Annual Lady Apache Invitational Sanger 2-2 (4th place)

She has competed some tough match with a few of these names you have on this list. And I guarantee she will go further than 3-4 names on this list and that’s when she will get some recognition.

#1 Ranked name at 101lbs is spelled incorrectly. The correct spelling is “Abbeygael Cabuag”
