NCVA Gears Up for Exciting November Volleyball Lineup

New tournaments were announced ahead of the upcoming girls’ season, and new leadership was appointed.

It is almost time for the girls’ volleyball season to commence later this month through the Northern California Volleyball Association (NCVA). But before the official start of the Girls Volleyball Club season, the NCVA is offering a series of tournaments to bring on the action for athletes of all ages.

Located at the Capital Sports Center in McClellan Park, CA, the big volleyball tournament weekend is to be held November 15–16, 2025. This includes the following:

NCVA Non-League – Saturday and Sunday, November 15–16 (depending on division)
NCVA Youth League – Sunday, November 16
NCVA Adult League – Saturday and Sunday, November 15–16 (depending on division)

These pre-season events provide valuable opportunities for teams to fine-tune their skills and for new players to gain competitive experience ahead of the club season.

The Youth League tournaments include, new to this season, 1st and 2nd grade, along with 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, 7th/8th, and 9th grades. Teams can be any combination of girls, boys, or co-ed. The goal is to introduce youth to the sport in a fun and engaging way.

All participating players require a full NCVA membership to compete, but 11 & Under Memberships are offered at a discounted rate, and 8 & Under Memberships are free.

December Tournaments

Looking ahead to December, the NCVA is hosting two major events. This includes the No Dinx/NCVA Boys Far Western, scheduled for December 6–7. Held again at Capital Sports Center, this event serves as the Boys National Qualifier—a prestigious tournament where top teams compete for bids to the USAV National Championships. This year, more than 30% of registered teams are from outside the region, highlighting the growing national appeal of the event.

Closing the year is the highly anticipated Holiday Bonanza on December 13–14, 2025, at @thegrounds in Roseville. Following a successful debut in 2024, the event is back with even more excitement, including the return of the toy and food drives, continuing NCVA’s tradition of giving back during the holiday season.

New Leadership

The NCVA also made a big leadership announcement to further strengthen the organization. On October 16, the NCVA announced the appointment of Nicole Annaloro, Ph.D., as its new Executive Director and Commissioner. Dr. Annaloro previously served as the Athletic Director at Sonoma State University, where she was known for her innovative leadership and commitment to student-athlete development.

Dr. Annaloro is to work closely with Donna Donaghy, who now serves as Director of Programs and Events, to guide the NCVA into a new chapter. Together, they aim to strengthen the organization’s commitment to competitive excellence, community engagement, and program expansion.
