Read BioLauren is a former CAL and Fresno State assistant coach and Stanfurd All-American. She was a two-time Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Year while with the Cardinal.
As a collegiate coach, the former Cardinal midfielder was actively involved in the organization of the attacking and midfield units, in scouting and in recruiting. A product of Bay Shore, N.Y., she graduated from Stanford in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in human biology.
Schmidt started all four of her seasons (2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011) and participating in two NCAA Tournament (2009 and 2010) runs on the Farm. She claimed IWLCA third-team All-America honors in 2010 and 2011 and the MPSF Player of the Year awards in 2009 and 2010, when she also led the Cardinal in points. Schmidt participated in the U.S. National Team program from 2009-11, competing in U.S. Lacrosse tournament and training sessions.
Lauren earned the prestigious Aimee Willard Award as the top collegiate player at the 76-year-old U.S. Lacrosse Women's Division National Tournament in Bel Air, Md.
